The Consumer's Choice Awards (CCA) is reporting once again that residents of this city have chosen Robillard Hearing Centers as their number one pick in hearing aid fittings and service for 2011. This is the tenth consecutive CCA win for Robillard’s.
The Consumers' Choice Gold award is awarded annually to businesses as a result of an independent telephone survey conducted by LEGER MARKETING, part of Gallup International.

They have been around a long time, !n fact, this year the company is celebrating 53 years of serving the needs of the hard of hearing in the Ottawa region. Founded in 1958 by John Robillard's father, Robillard Hearing Centers has grown to include 4 full time hearing centers in Ottawa and one in Brockville, located at the Brockville Chiropractic & Health Associates Clinic on California Ave. As well Robillard offers part time facilities at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital and at Dr. Hoffman's office in Hawkesbury and at the Chiropractic Care and Longevity Centre in Perth.

Having highly qualified, dedicated staff members is a critical component. Robillard's practitioners are provincially registered level II Hearing Instrument Specialists. This designation involves three years of postgraduate college instruction and one year of supervised internship. We have two new full time Audiologist [both members of the College of Audiologist and Speech Language): Nadine Anis and Natacha Rachette
working with Dr. Souald, Otolaryngologist. Dr. J.P. Souaid, Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, has joined RobilJard at their Westgate Shopping Centre location.

"Together with our hearing aid specialists, Audiologists and Otolaryngologist, weare able to better assess and recommend the correct hearing aid for our patients. We have introduced a new Hearing in Noise Test which quantities the one of the greatest challenges with hearing loss - hearing in noise. That has always been one our clientele's main complaints: their inability to understand speech in noise. By quantifying our patients' hearing in noise difficulties with our HINT tests we're now also able to tract their improvement, which has been very encouraging. We've also introduced a rehabilitative program, called LACE, which is designed to improve a patient's auditory processing, ultimately retraining the patient's brain for improved hearing in background noise." says Sophie Robillard, HIS and VP of Operations.

The addition of a quantifiable test with the advanced technology of hearing aids allows them to take the patient through the entire process, from evaluating the patient's hearing needs as it pertains to his or her lifestyle, to making commendations, fitting the hearing aids, counseling, and servicing those instruments.

Keeping up with technological change is a normal part of the job for Robillard's dedicated staff.
