Our Mission Statement:
To empower our clients with the employment and life skills to enhance their quality of life through the delivery of excellent services.
Who We Are
The Employment & Education Centre (EEC) is a not-for-profit agency that is committed to helping individuals reach their potential through education, employment, volunteering and financial counselling. We are funded primarily through the federal and provincial governments which make it possible to provide our services free of charge.
What We Do
Our services are designed to give people the training and/or experience they need to become employable. We offer advice and information to help individuals and families become more financially secure. Often times, unemployment and financial challenges go hand in hand. The EEC can provide assistance on both levels through our range of services, which are free of charge to those in need. We help you become job ready.
For the employer, we can assist your company/organization to find the perfect candidates for your job openings, facilitate downsizing activities or financial counselling.
Employer Services:
As an employer, you are constantly tasked with the job of finding the right people for the right job at the right wage.
The Employment & Education Centre can assist you in your search for employees and offer ways in which to minimize the costs of training, re-training and wages through a variety of programs.
Finding Employees
Tired of sorting through resumés to find the right person? The EEC can assist you with that monumental task. We offer screening services (tell us what you are looking for and we will provide the resumés); free referral and placement service for summer employment; and a job posting program so potential employers can find the right employees.
Training New or Current Employees
We realize that our ever-changing economy requires new skills to meet current demands. Or, you have new positions available that require specialized training. The EEC can assist employers with training programs or subsidized training programs so you can train people to do the jobs you require.
Wage Subsidies
Wage subsidy programs are offered through the federal and provincial governments. During the subsidy period, your company can ensure new employees acquire the skills they need to do the job, at a reduced cost to the company.
Work Experience Placements
Our bank of trained individuals can be offered to your company free of charge.
