All Analog is the creation of Peter Lindstrom. Peter is a 17 year veteran of the telecom industry and has completed numerous high speed analog designs in the fields of wireless, optics, ATM switch design, CATV and other.
200 Mbps Digital Television Transmission System:
- AGC and ALBO circuit design for 200 M coax cable data link.
- Clock recovery circuits.
Major Contributor on 1st Digital Cellular Equipment in North America:
- IF (82 MHz) AGC and amplifiers.
- RF (900 MHz) programmable frequency synthesizers.
- Extensive SPICE analysis and re-design on transmitter baseband front-end.
- Design of RF phase-shifter and attenuator circuits for transmitter pre-amp using EESof S-parameter design tools.
- Setup Nortel's (Calgary) manufacturing test plant for Nortel's TDMA digital cellular equipment including equipment selection, test case development and training of test engineers.
Analog and Synchronization Prime on ATM Switch Project:
- Work with ASIC vendors such as AMCC and Vitesse to test high speed clock recovery devices. Help them to develop test cards and make changes to future designs.
- 1 GHz Fiber Channel optic link design.
- Final say on all analog PCB layouts including OC-3 and OC-12 SONET line cards
- Synchronization architect responsible for Stratum 3 network sync card as well as all clocking h/w (PLLs, distribution amps, etc).
- Design, simulation (MATLAB) and test of complex DPLL.
This is just a sample of Peter's RF design work. He also has considerable experience with numerous analog design tools including: MATLAB, ADS, Microwave Office, SPICE, MathCad and others... and, even more experience with every piece of RF test equipment - Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, TDR, Distortion Analyzers, ultra high speed digital and analog scopes, Time Interval Analyzers, Jitter and Wander Analyzers and many others.
Besides an extensive background in high speed analog hardware design, Peter has also held roles as Director of Test for a VoIP company, Manager of a Network Test organization, various Business Development Manager roles, authored and delivered papers to the T1E1 committee on 'DSL Spectral Compatibility Standard' and has had many other interesting adventures in the telecommunications industry.
