Over our 35 years of operation, A.J.’s Catering has evolved into one of the finest catering services in the Ottawa area.

A business office nestled upstairs in a Metcalfe commissary has a phone that is ringing off the hook. A desk with several pamphlets, large three-ring binders bulging with papers and the occasional Post-it notepad cover the dark, wooden surface an organized yet chaotic work environment.

We have a wonderful team and everyone does there share of the work, as we answer the phone again “A.J.’s, good afternoon”.

At most businesses, Sundays aren’t meant to be so hectic, but at AJ¹s Catering Inc., each day is a surprise.
First impressions mean everything to our catering company; we strive to make each call in to our office important whether it is on a Sunday afternoon or during a Thursday rush. When people call, they want to talk to someone, not a machine.

The life of being employed at a catering service involves much dedication to the tasks at hand, good organization skills, but above all, attention to detail. Planning and setting up banquets, weddings and funerals are not easy jobs. With great Production, Distribution, Catering and Office teams all the work becomes that much easier.

Al Graham has been in business for over 35 years and will continue to produce the excellent quality of food and service that has made him famous throughout Metcalfe and the rest of the Ottawa area.

We'd be happy to cater to those who have allergies and/or special dietary needs. We can provide alternative meals for vegetarians, celiacs, diabetics and even gluten free meals. Please provide us with the name of the person and where they are seated.

A.J.'s provides all the necessary items that help to power your celebration or event whether it be in your backyard, in your home,
in a hall, a church, marina, funeral home anywhere!

When we provide you with a tent, we also provide lighting, chairs, tables, linens, platforms, dance floors, sounds systems, bar services, post draping, portable toilets.

Styles of Service
All functions require different styles of service, and we are pleased to meet individual clients' needs with a service that is both appropriate and adaptable. The four basic styles of service are:

Sit Down
Your meal includes full service of all courses to guest tables. AJ's guarantees that all guests will be served in under 15 minutes, with a normal serving time of 7-9 minutes. Your dinner will be served on hot china plates with stainless steel cutlery, china cups & saucers, and appropriate china or glass dessert ware. The tables will be fully set, ready to receive your guests, one hour before dinner.

Formal Buffet
With AJ's Formal Buffet, salad, rolls & butter, coffee, tea and dessert are all served to your guests at their tables. Our Catering Captain will invite your guests to the buffet for their main course. Your dinner will be served on hot china plates with stainless steel cutlery, china cups & saucers, and appropriate china or glass dessert ware. The tables will be fully set, ready to receive your guests, one hour before dinner.

100% Buffet
Great food, all you can eat buffet, served on hot china plates with stainless steel cutlery. Coffee, tea and dessert will be available at a separate buffet table. AJ's staff will arrive one hour before serving time to set up the tables.

Luncheon & Economy
For the budget conscious or for a luncheon, a modified buffet meal is available at a reduced price, which excludes salad, china and stainless steel cutlery. AJ's staff will arrive half an hour before serving time to set up your buffet table.

Staffing
To create the ultimate service for Your Event, we will supply the appropriate culinary experts and service personnel to perfect your event. Our experience has taught us to simplify this calculation. Our service provider's range in price from $15 to $60 per hour; they can be supplied for a fixed price of $25 per hour per staff averaging the cost of the professional in your favour.

Hall Set-ups
We have an excellent working relationship with Halls, Museums and Facilities that we provide servicing. We take pride in the care, respect and attention to detail we display in each of these facilities. For your convenience, we can coordinate set-up times and deliveries to accommodate all of your needs i.e. Decorators, Florists and Cake Suppliers.
